In Memory of Kaylee Hottle (2007-2026)

Kaylee Hottle (2007-2026)

The deaf actress Kaylee Hottle, whom many will remember for her starring role in two Godzilla movies, has died in a horrific car crash. She was 18. Her father posted a video statement on Facebook in which he confirmed the details of her death using American Sign Language (ASL).

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Kaylee was raised in Austin, Texas, where she studied at the Texas School for the Deaf. She began her acting career at the age of nine. Hottle's first acting role was in a Glide commercial, a video messaging app well-known within the hearing-impaired community. In 2021, Kaylee made her big-screen debut as the young orphan Jia in "Godzilla vs. Kong." She reprised her role in the 2024 sequel "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire." Other notable roles of hers include Joon in a 2021 episode of "Magnum P.I."

The deaf community will miss her.
