Plot Summary
Thor, the God of Thunder, is destined to sit on the throne of Asgard, but due to his arrogance, his father banishes him to Earth when he causes trouble in one of the Nine Realms and strips him of all his power. With Thor out of sight, his scheming brother, Loki,

assumes the throne and

prepares for his diabolical

scheme. With the humans he meets on Earth, Thor must stop Loki before he begins his iron-fisted rule of the kingdom.

Review

I remember when THOR came out on the big screen, and I didn't watch it in theatres as I'm not a Marvel fan. The film has a Shakespearean tone, which sums up the story in a way that its director, Kenneth Branagh, would want (or maybe that was his experience with Shakespeare that helped him. To be or not to be anyone?) I admired the feature's elegant production values with its visual effects, costume and set design.

Chris Hemsworth was the perfect actor to play the title character, who is charming but an arrogant god of thunder. Hemsworth is noticeably packed with heaps of muscle and did an excellent job in the role. It is good to see some Australian talent rising to the big screen. Other acting performances in the film include Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston. The latter did brilliantly as Thor's evil, manipulative brother Loki.

THOR is magnificent for its splendour and is the movie of the gods. It was spectacular if I had to describe the film. I highly recommend it to Marvel fans.
